Terms of use

Last updated: 5 November 2026.

These terms of use (hereinafter “the Terms”) govern access to and use of the FEIR service. They apply to any person who creates a space, answers a reference request or consults references by means of a share link.

Article 1. Definitions

In these Terms, the following words have the meaning set out below:

  • “Publisher”: Muriel Blind, publisher of the Service, whose details appear in the legal notice;
  • “Service”: the FEIR service, accessible at feir.io, enabling the collection, verification and sharing of professional references;
  • “Member”: any natural person who has created a space on the Service in order to collect references;
  • “Referee”: any person asked by a Member to attest to a professional collaboration, who answers the Service's questionnaire without creating an account;
  • “Recipient”: any person to whom a Member gives access to their references by means of a share link;
  • “User”: the Member, the Referee and the Recipient, without distinction;
  • “Reference”: a Referee's answer to the Service's questionnaire, attached to a collaboration declared by a Member;
  • “Content”: any information entered on the Service by a User, in particular a Member's description of a collaboration and a Referee's Reference.

Article 2. Purpose and acceptance

The purpose of the Terms is to define the conditions of access to and use of the Service, and the respective rights and obligations of the Publisher and the Users.

Creating a space, answering a questionnaire or opening a share link constitutes full and unreserved acceptance of the Terms. A User who does not accept the Terms is requested not to use the Service.

Article 3. Description of the Service

The Service enables a Member to declare a professional collaboration and to name a Referee. The Publisher sends the Referee a reference request by email. The Referee answers a questionnaire. The Reference is then made available to the Member, who alone decides whether to disclose it to Recipients by means of a share link.

The Service is provided free of charge. It is in a test phase and may be modified, suspended or discontinued at any time. Should the Service be permanently discontinued, Members are informed by email and are given a reasonable period to obtain a copy of their data.

Article 4. Access to the Service and the Member's space

Access to the Member's space is by means of a sign-in link sent to the Member's email address, without a password. The Member is solely responsible for the confidentiality of access to their mailbox and for any use of their space made through it.

A space corresponds to a single natural person, registered under their true identity. The Member undertakes to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

Article 5. Obligations of the Member

The Member describes the collaborations they declare, namely the company, the period and the work carried out. This description is sent as is to the Referee, who confirms it or adds a note. The Member undertakes that their declarations are accurate, factual and relate to a genuine collaboration with a person who actually observed their work.

The Member shall not include in their declarations any information subject to a confidentiality obligation, any data relating to third parties unconnected with the collaboration, or any data relating to private life. The Member shall also refrain from naming a person they have not worked with and from sending reference requests in bulk to persons who are not expecting them.

The Member is solely responsible for the Content they enter.

Article 6. Status and obligations of the Referee

The Referee is the author of their Reference and bears sole responsibility for it. The Referee answers freely, in good faith and within the limits of what they have personally observed. The Referee is under no obligation to answer.

Once submitted, the Reference cannot be modified by the Member. The Referee may withdraw it from the final screen of the questionnaire and, subsequently, request its correction or withdrawal by writing to contact@feir.io. A withdrawn Reference immediately ceases to be accessible and shareable.

The Publisher writes no Reference, assigns no rating and solicits no negative assessment. The “Verified” mark attests only that the Reference originates from an email address attached to the domain of the company named; it does not constitute a guarantee of the accuracy of its content.

Article 7. Liability for Content

Each item of Content is attached to an identified author, the Member for their declarations and the Referee for their Reference. Each author is solely responsible for the Content they publish, including before the law.

The Publisher stores Content and transmits it to the persons designated by the Member, as a provider of hosting services within the meaning of Article 6 of French Law No. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 and of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 of 19 October 2022. The Publisher exercises no prior control and no general monitoring of Content and is under no obligation to verify its accuracy. The Publisher acts expeditiously to remove any unlawful Content reported to it under Article 8.

Article 8. Reporting unlawful Content

Any person who considers that Content is unlawful, in particular in the event of defamation, insult, disclosure of confidential or private information, impersonation or Content unrelated to professional activity, may report it to the Publisher at contact@feir.io. The report shall include:

  • the name and email address of its author;
  • the precise location of the Content, by link or by description;
  • the reasons why the Content is considered unlawful.

The Publisher acknowledges receipt of the report and notifies its reasoned decision within a reasonable period, as a rule within fifteen days. In the event of removal, the author of the Content is informed, with a statement of reasons, and may submit observations. Reports that are manifestly unfounded or repeated in an abusive manner may be left unprocessed.

Article 9. Removal, suspension and termination

The Publisher reserves the right to remove any Content and to suspend or terminate a Member's space in the event of a breach of the Terms, a legal obligation or misuse of the Service, in particular false identity, bulk sending of requests or attempts to access other persons' data.

Save in an emergency or where the law provides otherwise, the person concerned is informed beforehand by email and given the opportunity to submit observations. They retain the right to obtain a copy of their data.

Article 10. Sharing of References

The Member alone determines which References are shared, with which Recipients and for how long. Each share link carries an expiry date and may be revoked by the Member at any time. The Publisher records the date and IP address of each opening of a share link, for the security of the Service.

The Recipient accesses References for the sole purpose of assessing a professional collaboration with the Member. Any redistribution, reproduction in a third-party tool or use for the purpose of approaching the Referee is prohibited.

Article 11. Intellectual property

Content remains the property of its authors. By entering it, the User grants the Publisher, for the retention period set out in the data protection policy, a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and display the Content, solely for the purpose of providing the Service and disclosing the Content to the persons designated by the Member.

The elements of the Service belonging to the Publisher are protected under the conditions set out in the legal notice.

Article 12. Liability and warranties

The Service is provided as is, free of charge and in a test phase. The Publisher uses reasonable means to ensure its operation and security, without guaranteeing continuous availability or the absence of errors.

A Reference constitutes the testimony of its author. The Publisher does not guarantee its accuracy and shall not be held liable for decisions, including hiring or contracting decisions, taken by a User on the basis of Content consulted by means of the Service.

Article 13. Closure of the space

The Member may request the closure of their space at any time by writing to contact@feir.io. Closure entails the deletion of the space, the declared collaborations and the collected References, and the deactivation of all share links. The Member may, beforehand, request a copy of their data. Referees are not informed of the closure; their Reference is deleted together with the space to which it is attached.

Article 14. Amendment of the Terms

The Publisher may amend the Terms at any time. The date of the version in force appears at the top of this document. Any substantial amendment is notified to Members by email at least thirty days before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms; otherwise, the Member may request the closure of their space.

Article 15. Personal data

The processing of personal data carried out in connection with the Service is described in the personal data protection policy, which forms an integral part of the Terms.

Article 16. Governing law and jurisdiction

The Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute relating to their interpretation or performance, the parties shall endeavour to reach an amicable settlement. Failing this, the dispute shall be brought before the competent French courts. A User who is a consumer residing in another Member State of the European Union retains the benefit of the mandatory provisions of the law of their State of residence.
